Greetings, Darklings! Velcome to my little corner of the web.
I am your hostess, Shari. Let me take you on a journey through the romantic world of Vintage Goth. I've been a part of Goth culture for over 20 years, developing a strong affinity for the Goth look and mindset. I've always loved old things and antiques, but I first became enamored with Goth in the 80’s, when I worked at a record store. It was there I first heard The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, Dead Can Dance, and all the other dark bands that made up the early Goth scene. Since those days, Goth music and style have grown and diversified, but I am going to focus on what I know best – the classic Victorian Vampire style, with a little Batcave, Punk, Rockabilly, and a dash of Lolita thrown in. But you don’t have to be a Goth to enjoy this site. If you love darkly beautiful things, you are in the right place. I believe Goth is for everyone, whether you live the lifestyle to the fullest, or just dress up for Halloween – everyone is welcome here with no judgment.
For you my Darklings, I shall search the web to bring you the best of Vintage Goth in style, music, art, movies, and more. I will seek out people, places, and things of interest, creating exclusive content just for you. I’ll give you tips on the Gothic lifestyle, and connect you with others in the Gothic community who are experts in their field.
In the future I’ll be opening a little virtual shop of horrors, full of things you’ll need to have. I’m planning, researching and fundraising for this right now! I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress.
Come, cross the threshold into my little haunt on the web, and enjoy your stay.
Till death do us part,
Shari
